What's happening on South Florida's roads? Read Michael Turnbell
August 10, 2008
QTalk about frustrating. The Florida Department of Transportation finally opens Southern Boulevard, but then closes two of the four eastbound lanes just west of U.S. 441. Why can't the state at least open the left lane to Sansbury's Way on the east side of the South Florida Fairgrounds to allow for left turns?

For now, stretch of I-75 won't expand to 6 lanes
July 27, 2008
Q: I just drove back from Atlanta using Interstate 75 and Florida's Turnpike. With all the toll money collected through the years, why isn't the turnpike at least six lanes for its entire length? I got caught in an hourlong traffic jam when both southbound lanes were blocked north of Orlando. There is plenty of land in the median to widen the turnpike.

Driver says turn lanes at Griffin Road and Federal Highway are unclear
June 22, 2008
Q The intersection of Griffin Road and Federal Highway is poorly marked for drivers turning north and then trying to get to the ramp for Interstate 595 or Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. There are two left-turn lanes from Griffin to northbound Federal, but drivers in the far left-turn lane cut across to get to the ramp. Can the state mark the lanes clearer?

New signs remind drivers on State Road A1A to stop for pedestrians
April 27, 2008
Q Apparently, motorists on State Road A1A in Fort Lauderdale need more than a sign showing a walking stick figure and an arrow to know that they must stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. They rarely stop. When I'm driving and I stop, drivers behind me honk their horns. How about an additional sign actually telling drivers, "You must stop for pedestrians in crosswalks?"

April 13, 2008

Golden Glades toll plaza work is reevaluated

Can you tell us why and when the project will go forward? Also, state troopers have been running speed traps at northbound drivers coming through the toll plaza. Do you know anything about this?

Rough ride on Interstate 75 ramp caused by one of two things

If not, will it be fixed in conjunction with the state's current project to build an exit ramp from westbound I-595/I-75 to westbound State Road 84/Weston Road.
