Machinist - Industrial Mechanic
Sun-Sentinel Company of South Florida, a subsidiary of Tribune Company, America's largest employee-owned media company, operating businesses in publishing, interactive and broadcasting is seeking a Machinist (Industrial Mechanic) to work at the Deerfield Beach location.
Responsibilities include: Designing, engineering and fabricating equipment parts; mechanical maintenance and repair of the production related equipment in a daily newspaper printing facility.
Requirements include: High school education or equivalent with approved apprentice training program of four years; two years minimum newspaper experience in maintenance and repairs; ability to read and understand equipment schematics, blueprints, manuals and to use related test equipment; experience in the use of machine shop equipment and tools, lathe, milling machine, drill press, surface grinder, micrometer and indicators; ability to lift equipment that weigh up to 50 lbs; ability to lay down under raised equipment; ability to walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and kneel to work on hard to reach equipment; ability to work in conditions unfavorable including varying temperatures, dusty condition, greasy and dirty areas and outdoors.
