This is quite different for the Bruins than it was last season. They slid into the Eastern Conference playoffs in the final days, surprising many in the NHL by their feat. This season, the Bruins find themselves in "unchartered territory," defenseman Dennis Wideman says. They find themselves atop the Northeast Division, battling for the best record in the conference. And as coach Claude Julien has stressed to his team, it's a role that isn't easily maintained.

Watch and learn: The Flyers were struggling so much on faceoffs that on Wednesday Bob Clarke, the team's former star, captain and now general manager, put on skates. According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Clarke gave a lesson to the team's centers, including Daniel Briere, on how to win draws.
